A criminal case was opened against the deputy of the legislative assembly of the Penza region, Vladimir Vdonin, for showing traffic police officers a fake prosecutor’s ID. This was reported on the website of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.
As the investigation established, on November 30, a drunk deputy was driving his Land Rover. He was stopped by traffic police inspectors. The man showed them a fake ID of an employee of the Prosecutor General's Office.
A criminal case was opened under Part 3 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code (use of a knowingly forged ID).
In addition, Vdonin was expelled from United Russia. The first to report his detention was the executive secretary of the United Russia Ethics Commission, Evgeniy Revenko. On his Instagram, he wrote that Vdonin “did not care about the law and the safety of other people” and “should be punished harshly.”
