A murder case was opened against a Lipetsk woman who tried to defend herself from her man.

The Office of the Investigative Committee for the Lipetsk Region opened a criminal case of murder against a local resident who, in an attempt to defend herself, stabbed her man with a knife. This is reported on the department's website.

According to investigators, there was a conflict between a 21-year-old girl and her partner. The man hit her on the head, after which she took a knife and stabbed him in the chest. The girl immediately called an ambulance, but her partner died in hospital.

According to the woman, the deceased constantly beat her, “however, the quarrels ended in reconciliation.” She was arrested in a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (murder).

“The sanction of this article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for an unalternative punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years,” the Investigative Committee recalled.
