The state prosecution requested four years to a colony of a student of the Higher School of Economics Yegor Zhukov in the case of calls for extremism (part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code), which investigators found in the video on his YouTube channel, the mediazone correspondent from the courtroom reports.

In the videos of Zhukov, the FSB experts found calls for the fight against power in Russia "with an arbitrary choice of a form of protest, including actions of a violent nature, in particular forcibly seizing power and armed rebellion."

The student himself does not plead guilty and emphasized during interrogation that he opposes any violent forms of protest and could not call for rebellion.

Initially, Zhukov was arrested in the case of the action on July 27 for admission of independent candidates for the Moscow City Duma. He was accused of participating in the riots (part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code). But a month later, Zhukov was transferred from the pre-trial detention center under house arrest, and the case of riots against him was terminated due to his lack of involvement, but he was charged with an extremism.
