Film director Alexander Sokurov, on his Facebook page, spoke about an unsuccessful attempt to communicate with the President’s envoy to the North -Western Administration Alexander Gutsan. He wanted to discuss the situation in Shies, as well as a cultural and socio-political life in St. Petersburg. However, he stumbled upon "hostility and arrogance" from the side of the official.
The Gutsan, as Sokurov writes, refused to discuss protests against the construction of the garbage training ground in Shies, saying that the discontent of citizens is connected with the "intervention of the Americans" and the "speculative opposition." The protesters, according to the representative of the president, are too capricious and do not want to work. “There is nothing to talk about with these people at all,” the mall said.
Sokurov noted that all calls to look for ways and form of dialogue with dissatisfied people were “rejected in an absolutely bureaucratic style,” and the meeting with the official shocked him with his uselessness.
In the village of ShiES, the Moscow authorities are building a garbage training ground where waste from Moscow will be taken. Against the construction of the training ground are local residents, activists and ecologists. For more than a year, they have been conducting numerous promotions and rallies for one purpose - so that the authorities refuse to build a training ground in the village of Shies.
