The authorities of Port Singapore arrested the Russian ship Sevastopol, which has been under American sanctions last year, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Oleg Anikin, Deputy General Director of the Gudzon Sudelian.
According to Anikin, the vessel was arrested for debts and now the authorities of the Singapore port are achieving permission in court to sell it. He explained the debts of the deputy general director by the fact that when entering Singapore, Sevastopol broke up auxiliary engines. It was not possible to fix them, because local companies refused to work with the ship, which is under US sanctions.
It is not possible to get out of Singapore with 12 crew members. Before the court, which was appointed on December 17, the authorities refused to let anyone out of the ship and not let him go to him. "Singapore hopes that the court will give him a ship and then the ship can get out of American sanctions, then it can be sold," Anikin said.
In addition, Anikin told TASS that the Partizan ship, which belonged to the same shipping company Hudzon, was stuck without fuel in the South Korean port of Pokhan, left without a crew and 100 tons of fuel oil on board.
“We tried to find fuel in all possible ways, but unsuccessfully. The ship was left without light, warmth and food, so it was impossible to keep the crew there for all standards. For some time we still kept the sailors in the hotel in the port so that they would look after the boat at least during the day, but now we already return them home. The“ partisans ”with the remnants of the fuel oil on board, which are about 100 tons, are thrown into in. Frohang, and at any point, a spill can happen there now, ”Anikin said.
Anikin added that the company "Gudzon" has repeatedly notified about this situation of the captain of the port, and also turned to the Russian government for help. The company also cannot sell or cut the ship into metal, since it is pledged by the bank. According to the deputy director of the company, some stronger storm is now the greatest danger, which can tear the partisan from the pier.
In August last year, the United States included two Russian companies and six vessels, including the Hudson Shipping Company and the Sevastopol ship’s shipping company. The US Department of Finance claims that the court list of the court allegedly participated in the supply of purified petroleum products to the DPRK, which, allegedly, were pumped from Russian to North Korean vessels in the Open Sea.
On September 29 of the same year, the ship was detained in the South Korean port of Pusan: as the representative of the company "Gudzon" Gennady Kononenko said, the ship came to the port and stood up for repairs before the sanctions - August 21. After the repair, it was supposed to go on a flight. In a letter sent to the captain of the vessel, it was stated that it was detained on the basis of a decision of the South Korean government due to the introduction of US sanctions against the Gudzon company, and to resolve the issue of the Russian Federation should contact the Government of South Korea.
Immediately after the detention of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he turned to Seoul demanding to immediately remove the ban on the exit of Sevastopol from the port of Pusan. To clarify the details to the department, the ambassador of the Republic of Korea was called by Yun Gyn, after which the authorities canceled the ban on the ship exit from the port.
Meanwhile, according to the Gudzon leadership, the company never worked with North Korea, so it is included in the sanctions list unreasonably. The company's owners are in correspondence with the US Finance Department and seek sanctions.
