Yegor Zhukov was recognized as an extremist, but gave a conditional term. Report from the Kuntsevsky court

The Kuntsevsky District Court sentenced the student of the Higher School of Economics Yegor Zhukov to three years conditionally for calls for extremism on the Internet (part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code). The judge considered him the guilt of proven, and the charge based on the only linguistic examination prepared in the FSB was left unchanged. Among the listeners at the meeting was rapper Oximiron, actress Chulpan Khamatova and rector of the Holy Trinity Church in Hokhlah, Archpriest Alexei Uminsky. About five hundred people were waiting for Yegor near the court - mostly also Students of the Higher School.

At nine in the morning, about fifty people stand at the stairs at the entrance to the Kuntsevsky court. Prior to the sentence, Yegor Zhukov is another hour, but it is already clear that soon the number of listeners to increase many times.

It is more difficult to get into the court today than usual - there are too many people, and the bailiffs are in a hurry to close the entrance. The corridor at the hall of the meeting is quickly filled with people. Among the new listeners in the Zhukov case, actress Chulpan Khamatova. Egor Zhukov is led through the crowd. Today he is not in a suit - on a student of sports pants, but in his hands a large gray bag - in case of arrest. As you can understand from the Instagram of one of Ilya Novikov’s lawyers, Yegor, in addition to the necessary things, took books with him: Jordan Peterson and Mikhail Khodorkovsky.

The judge calls him the proof of the existence of direct intent by Zhukov’s training in political science in the Higher School of Economics.

Thanks to the “specifics of knowledge” that the defendant received at the university, as well as “outstanding intellectual abilities”, Zhukov realized the social danger of his actions and their consequences. Moreover, the judge notes that Zhukov wanted to put knowledge in practice. “A clear speech on the video”, as well as editing the videos, indicates that the student acted intentionally and thought out.

Zhukov’s guilt is also proved by the quotation of political scientist Gin Sharp, the author of the book about the methods of non -violent protest. As the judge notes, with the help of Sharp Zhukov, "called for extremist activity against the state."

The verdict contains many quotes of the expert from the FSB Alexander Korshikov. The judge adds that his examination did not require legal knowledge and special linguistic education. It is worth noting that due to the discrepancies with this examination, the court did not take into account all Zhukov’s statements about the rejection of violence. At the end of Ukhnalev, he notes that the rights of protection were not violated, because lawyers could calmly file a petition for re -examination.

The verdict of Yegor Zhukov is three years conditionally, as well as a ban on the administration of sites for two years. The court took into account the lack of criminal records, good characteristics, as well as the help of a disabled grandmother, with whom he lives.

Together with four activists, they go to the bourgeois court. At twelve o'clock there will be sentenced to another defendant of “Moscow case” to Vladimir Emelyanov.

- Naturally, this packing is very pleasing - this means that attracting attention to such things really works. It is clear that in modern realities we perceive the conditional sentence as acquittal. Unfortunately, there is a sentence. But in fact, he is conditional only because each of those who supported and attracted attention to this was done. I want to say a lot of thanks to everyone who over the past four months, not afraid to seem like a city crazy, have attracted attention to this problem, and specifically to Yegor, says the rapper.

During his speech, many begin to chant so loudly that the slogans are clearly audible in the court building. The front door into it is closed to the Skokold.

-Firstly, I am still confident in my innocence. We should not perceive the conditional sentence as freedom. This is an unfinished victory, although I am very happy to be free now.

Secondly, friends do not need to separate the protection of political prisoners and unfairly convicted of politics. All this is politics. They turned the court into a repressive institute. We must fight this and fight political means. Thirdly, I want to thank you all for the fact that you fought for being here. Everything that is happening is happening thanks to you, ”says Zhukov.

The cameras surround him for a long time, literally all those gathered with Zhukov follow the column together to the subway. Very quickly, Yegor finds his friend and colleague Yevgeny Ovcharov, who participated in the campaign from the very beginning. Zhukov says that he will continue political activity.

- We still have a lot of what we need to fight for and many reasons for the problems that exist in Russia, I voiced in my last word, as it turned out, not the last. What I said then, the manifesto of the beginning of the current stage of my political activity, says Yegor.
