
The Russian national team took first place in the medal standings of the European Swimming Championship in short water , which ended in Glasgow. According to the results of five competitive days, Russian swimmers won 22 medals - 13 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze.
The article completed the performance at the championship with the best result in its history. Previously, the most successful was the 2017 Continent Championship in Copenhagen (9-5-4). Domestic swimmers for the fourth time became the best in Europe (2008, 2013, 2017, 2019).
In total, 40 sets of awards were played in Glasgow. The second in the medal standings was the Italians (6-7-7), the top three Dutch (5-1-4) closed the top three. According to the total number of awards, the first are Russians (22), the latter are Italians (20), the third - Hungarians and British (11 each).
At the personal distances of the Russian team, Vladimir Morozov (50 m Brasses, 50 meters by rabbits, 100 meters by rabbits), Clement Kolesnikov (100 meters on the back, 100 meters with a complex, 50 meters on the back), Oleg Kostin (50 meters of butterfly), Maria Temnikova (200 meters by Brasn) and Maria Kameneva (50 meters by rabbits).
The national team won four more gold in the men's rabbit relay race of 4x50 meters, in a mixed combined relay of 4x50 meters, in a 4x50 -meter mixed relay, in a freedom and in a men's combined relay of 4x50 meters.
Silver of Russia was brought by Mikhail Zeletevishchev (100 m, butterfly), Sergey Fesikov (100 m, complex), Ilya Borodin (400 m, complex) and Maria Kameneva (100 m, back and 100 m, complex).
Bronze was won by Vladislav Grinev (100 m, rabbit), Mikhail Neko -20 (200 m, free style), Daniil Pasynkov (400 m, Kolmpleks) and a female combined relay 4x50 m.
The next European Championship will be held in 2021 in Lisbon.
