Coach Domenico Tedesco doubted his future at Spartak

Spartak head coach Domenico Tedesco addressed reporters at a press conference after the defeat to Rostov (1:4) in the 19th round of the Russian Championship and expressed hope that he will continue to work with the team after the New Year.

Tedesco took charge of Spartak in mid-October, signing a contract until May 2021. Under his leadership, the team won two victories, drew twice and suffered three defeats in seven championship matches, and also reached the quarter finals of the Russian Cup. As a result, the red-whites went into the winter break four points from the relegation zone.

The coach admitted that eight points scored is not enough. In particular, the team had to win against Rubin and Ural. At the same time, if you subtract the pauses for national teams, there were only four weeks of the training process - this is a rather short period. However, Tedesco intends to defend his players and take all the blame for failures upon himself.
