The period of detention in the pre-trial detention center for those involved in the “Network” case was extended until March 11

In St. Petersburg, Garrison Military Court No. 224 extended the preventive measure for Viktor Filinkov and Yulia Boyarshinov, defendants in the “Network” case, until March 11. This was reported by Mediazona with reference to the Rupression support group for those persecuted in the Penza case.

On October 30, the day of remembrance of victims of political repression, Filinkov went on a hunger strike in a pre-trial detention center as a sign of solidarity with political prisoners. Soon he was hospitalized in the prison hospital, where members of the Public Monitoring Committee were not allowed to see Filinkov.

• On September 6, the Memorial Human Rights Center recognized Viktor Filinkov and Yuli Boyarshinov as political prisoners.
• Yuliy Boyarshinov and Viktor Filinkov have been in custody since January 21 and 23, 2018, respectively.
• The defendants in the Network case talked about psychological pressure, electric shock torture and weapons that FSB officers planted on them. Some of them refused to confess and said that they gave them under torture.
• According to investigators, “Network” is a terrorist organization, which allegedly has cells in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Penza and Belarus. In total, 11 anarchists and anti-fascists from St. Petersburg and Penza are involved in the case. The investigation believes that community members were preparing terrorist attacks in Russia in order to raise an armed rebellion.
