Several countries boycotted the Nobel ceremony due

In Stockholm and Oslo, on Tuesday, there were ceremonies of the Nobel Prizes for this year. Laureates were announced in October, awarded prizes according to tradition on December 10.

The ceremony was also boycotted by a member of the Swedish Academy, writer Peter Englund. A sharp criticism of the decision of the Nobel Committee was made by Turkish President Recep Erdogan, saying that he awarded the Racist. The military reporters who worked in Bosnia during the war under the hashtag #bosnianWarrePors were told in social networks that they were witnesses of crimes from the Serbs. On the contrary, the president of the Bosnian Republic of Serbian Milorad Dodik congratulated Handke.

Hundke himself, after a decision on the award of him, did not comment on the charges against him. In his Nobel lecture, he also does not talk about the war in the Balkans.

Peter Handke was born in 1942. Among his most famous works are “hornets”, “the goal of the goalkeeper in front of the eleven -meter”, “slow return home”, the play “Insulting the public”. Handke is the author of the script of the film Vim Venders "The sky over Berlin."

The Nobel Prize on Tuesday was also awarded to the Polish writer Olga Tokarchuk - for 2018. Last year, the award was not awarded.
