Komi: Residents are asked to figure out how to preserve their native language

The authorities announced a competition for the best project, which will help preserve their native and state language in the republic. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of National Policy.

Officials who will be part of the Expert Council will choose the best offer. The winners will be awarded with prizes from 20 to 50 thousand rubles.

In 2018, UNESCO published an updated atlas of dying languages. In Russia, the organization counted 136 languages that are in danger. 20 languages are recognized as disappeared, another 22 are considered in critical condition.
