In Udmurtia, the tragedy with the death of a child unexpectedly prevented a second similar tragedy

The tragic story of the death of a disabled child in Udmurtia led to a dramatic development of events.

A few days ago, on December 6, the republic was shocked by the circumstances of the death of a 13-year-old child who suffered from cerebral palsy. In the city of Mozhga, a boy who was moving in a wheelchair suddenly lost his mother, with whom they lived together in an isolated apartment. The child could not leave the apartment on his own, he screamed, but no one paid attention to the screams. Trying to turn on the tap to get drunk, the boy fell out of the stroller and could not get up. It was reported that after a week the neighbors became alarmed, but it was too late.

The prosecutor's office began checking the circumstances of the incident and intends to assess the work of the guardianship authorities. And the leadership of the republic, meanwhile, created a headquarters, which was headed by the head of government, Yaroslav Semyonov. It was decided to quickly check the families where single mothers live with sick children.

During the inspection, social workers in Izhevsk were unable to get into one of the apartments where a single mother with a two-year-old child lived.

After breaking the door, it turned out that the woman died of pneumonia, and the baby stayed next to the mother's corpse for five days.

This time everything went relatively well. The child was taken to the hospital, and his life is no longer in danger. But this case caused a second wave of public indignation with the usual question: "Who is to blame?"

One such tragic episode looks like an accident. Two - it already looks like a system flaw. Opinions are expressed that support for such families should be organized in such a way that mothers have more opportunities to maintain their health. It is proposed to attract resources to the social sphere, whose workers, with their workloads and low salaries, themselves sometimes need psychological support.

Such discussions do not oblige anyone to anything, and their participants fear that as soon as these two Udmurt stories leave the news feeds, everyone will calm down, and the authorities will limit themselves to punishing two or three employees, and not necessarily the guilty ones.
