
The Dzerzhinsky District Court arrested the general director of Metrostroy Nikolai Alexandrov in the case of a major embezzlement. This was reported by the United press service of the vessels of St. Petersburg.
Aleksandrova is suspected that he, together with accomplices, abducted the company's money, concluding fictitious agreements under the guise of state contracts. The damage, according to investigators, reaches 178 million rubles.
His lawyer insisted that Aleksandrov’s arrest would lead to bankruptcy of Metrostroy and leave 4 thousand employees of the company. He was asked to appoint house arrest and let go on bail, but the court refused. Alexandrov himself does not plead guilty.
