Historian Oleg Sokolov, who is accused of killing graduate students of St. Petersburg State University Anastasia Eshchenko, expressed a desire to pay compensation to the family of the deceased girl. This was reported by "Gazeta.Ru" with reference to the lawyer Sokolov Alexander Poyuev.

According to the defender, the accused wants to send money from sales of his new book, which was presented a week ago, in favor of the injured side. At the same time, he did not call a possible amount of compensation. “There can be no specific amount yet. A person’s life is priceless,” the publication quotes the word of Postuev.

The lawyer also noted that the defense side has already contacted Anastasia Eshchenko about possible compensation.
