Yandex defended nginx

"Nginx case" is a threat to the development of Internet technologies based on open source programs. Today, Grigory Bakunov, Director of the spread of Yandex technologies, stated this, and the company spread his application in the official blog. Main provisions:

• Modern Internet is inconceivable without open code systems, and for users (browsers) and developers (software servers).
• They sharply simplify and accelerate development and scaling due to the fact that any participant can read and improve the code.

• Programs with open code do not bring profit on their own: the main thing is not a business, but a strong open product with many motivated developers - which are easy to lose.

The basis of "Nginx case" is the claims of Rambler, in which the founders of the company worked in the early 2000s. The Rambler believes that Nginx was created by employees in service time and the rights to the program belong to the Internet holding. The right to resolve the dispute Rambler transferred the company of its co -owner Alexander Mamut.

Today, the co -founder of Nginx stated that the claims were provoked by too successfully selling business to Americans, and lawyers explained to The Bell, who has more chances in the dispute.
