The US presidential administration has limited the number of officials who can listen to Donald Trump's telephone conversations with foreign leaders. It is reported by CNN, citing sources.

Now only high-ranking officials have access to telephone conversations. These include, for example, State Department Secretary Mike Pompeo, Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, and Deputy Chief of Staff Rob Blair. Access to transcripts of Trump's conversations has also been restricted.

Access to telephone conversations was restricted to avoid leakage, one of the sources told CNN.

• On July 25, a telephone conversation took place between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This conversation was the reason for the start of the impeachment proceedings against the President of the United States. Trump was suspected of asking Zelensky to investigate Hunter Biden, the son of Joe Biden, a likely Democratic candidate in the 2020 presidential election.
