The Kudymkar court canceled three more fines for Memorial’s expedition to the cemetery of the repressed

The Kudymkar City Court canceled the fines and terminated the administrative cases of Lithuanians who participated in the international expedition of the Perm "Memorial" to the abandoned cemetery of the repressed. This was reported by the Public Verdict Foundation.

The Kudymkarsky court closed the cases against Lithuanian citizens Stanislovas Ulinskas, Gediminas Brazyulis and Genius Balyukevichus. In December, the court made a similar decision regarding Tomas Kukis and Vladas Ulinkas . All five were accused of “unauthorized occupation of forest plots” (Article 7.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) with fines of 20,000 rubles.

• In August 2019, volunteers from Lithuania, together with human rights activists, cleaned up the Polish-Lithuanian cemetery in the forest near the abandoned village of Galyashor. In the 1940s, families of repressed Poles and Lithuanians were exiled to the settlement.
• The expedition members were visited by the police with interrogation. A few days later, two criminal cases were opened - on illegal logging (Article 260 of the Criminal Code) and fictitious registration of foreign citizens (Article 322.2 of the Criminal Code).
