Vimpelcom (Beeline) warned subscribers of unlimited archival tariffs about raising prices from January 16, 2020. Tariffs will grow by about 18%: the size of the subscriber fee will change on package tariff plans, and plans without a monthly fee - the cost of local outgoing calls.

Representatives of the operators say that they change the terms of tariffs in accordance with the market situation, the change in the costs of the “Yarova Law” and the planned expenses for the implementation of the Law on “Sovereign Runet” influenced.

Earlier, telecom operators asked to be banned by companies establishing equipment for the implementation of the Law on the Sovereign Internet to use subscribers. This issue was discussed on November 28 at a meeting in the Federation Council.

According to the operators, now the safety of data that is processed within the framework of the law is not ensured by law, and those who, in addition to operators will have access to them, will theoretically be able to use this data for their commercial purposes.

On December 14, 2018, Senators Klishas, ​​Lyudmila Bokova and Andrei Lugovoi introduced a bill to protect Runet from threats from other states, in particular, the United States, to the State Duma. They proposed to ensure the autonomous work of Runet and abandon the use of foreign servers. The law entered into force on November 1 of this year. It provides for the creation of an independent infrastructure that provides routing on the Internet if it is impossible to connect to foreign root servers. Also, according to the provisions of the new law, communication operators are required to establish technical means that can determine the source of traffic.

The expert council under the government calculated that the fulfillment of the requirements of the Law on the “sovereign Internet” will require operators up to 130 billion rubles of additional costs annually.
