The growth rate of the Russian economy can reach 2% even without structural reforms, said at a meeting with members of the Federation Council, TASS reports. "Despite the fact that the growth was somewhat restored at the end of the year, in general, it really is very low - 1.3%. Inflation has seriously slowed down, by the end of the year it will be 3%, it will go below 2.5%in the first quarter. This shows us that there is a certain space for the dispersal of demand in the economy. And we can grow even without any structural changes, we can grow at least at least 2%, not Less, ”said Oreshkin.
The Minister also recalled that this year "the world economy has grown the weakest pace since 2009, from the global financial crisis", which was facilitated by trade wars and other negative factors.
“This also affects us,” Oreshkin emphasized. “If you look at the indicators of our export, then we see that we have [growth] in real terms of 1%. We see problems with fertilizer supplies, in the processing industry demand, especially in Europe, weaker than it was before,” the minister added.
However, he, however, noted the need for structural reforms in various fields.
