The organizer of protests against integration with the Russian Federation was detained in Minsk

Pavel Severin, one of the organizers of street actions against the integration of Belarus with Russia, was detained in Minsk. The detention was reported on Facebook by his wife, now there is no connection with the Severinets.

According to the Belarusian Radio Service Service, Maxim Vinyarsky was also detained, the coordinator of the Civil campaign of European Belarus. The reason for the detention is unclear.

On December 20 and 21, opponents of integration with Russia intend to hold new protests in Minsk. On Wednesday, they accepted an appeal to law enforcement officers of Belarus . They urge them not to disperse the protest and protect the sovereignty of the country, which, as they claim, threatens Russia's absorption. In this case, the authors of letters write, the Belarusian military and police can become victims of the "imperial ambitions" of Moscow and they will threaten them, for example, sending to Syria.

The actions of opponents of integration are timed to negotiating President Alexander Lukashenko in Russia. On December 7, he met in Sochi with Vladimir Putin, and on December 20 a new meeting was scheduled-in St. Petersburg. The Russian authorities raise the question of deepening integration within the framework of the Union State. Representatives of the Belarusian opposition are afraid that the result of negotiations may be the actual loss of the country of sovereignty.
