In St. Petersburg, after the rally, experts were detained by Greenpeace Rashid Alimov

In St. Petersburg, late in the evening on Tuesday, the expert of the Russian branch Greenpeace Rashid Alimov was detained.

As the Mediazone was told in the press service of the organization, eight criminal investigation officers detained the ecologist. At first they tried to enter the apartment, but his nine -year -old daughter did not open the door for them. Police officers waited for Alimov’s return, detained him and delivered him to the department.

The organization is sure that Alimov was detained due to the action against the import of nuclear production waste into Russia, which he conducted on December 17. Later, Alimov was released from the police, drawing up a protocol on him under the article "Unauthorized occupation of the land."

According to the document, during the action on Nevsky Prospekt, the expert took the land plot ”, with an area of 15 square meters, placing 11 metal barrels on it.

On December 17, eco -activists held an action in the center of St. Petersburg against the import of uranium "tails" from Germany to Russia. They made installation from barrels imitating tanks with nuclear waste, on which it was written "Happy New Year!"

• According to Greenpeace, the Mikhail Dudin vessel with the new batch of Uranium tails will arrive in St. Petersburg this week, and then the cargo will be sent by train after half the country to Novouralsk in the Sverdlovsk region.
• About 1 million 200 thousand tons of "tails" have already been accumulated in Russia. All of them are stored in the open air.
