A Premier spokesperson confirmed that new episodes of Outbreak, including episode five, will hit the platform on Friday 20 December. The deleted series will reappear on the service without cuts, a Gazprom Media employee told Vedomosti.

The fifth episode of the series about an unknown virus affecting the inhabitants of Russia showed riots and the shooting of civilians by security forces. In total, the first season of “Epidemic” will have eight episodes; the online cinema website reported that the showing of the second half was postponed to February 2020. A representative of Gazprom Media then explained the decision to postpone the “lack of premieres in February.”

This is the second time that Gazprom Media has suddenly stopped broadcasting a series with a political plot. On December 11, the TNT channel, part of this holding, took off the air the Ukrainian series “Servant of the People” starring Vladimir Zelensky, who several years after filming the project became the President of Ukraine. Now Servant of the People is available only on Premier. At the same time, a joke about Russian President Vladimir Putin was removed from the first episode of the series.
