In the Stavropol Territory, the detention in pre-trial detention centers for the leaders of protests in Ingushetia was extended

The Essentuki City Court extended the detention in the pre-trial detention center for members of the Ingush Committee of National Unity (IKNE) Bagudin Khautiev, Barakh Chemuziyev, as well as Committee Chairman Musa Malsagov. This is reported by the Ingush edition of Fortanga.

All of them are charged under the article on organizing the use of violence dangerous to the health of security officials (part 3 of article 33, part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code) during a rally in Magas on March 26 and 27.

All three were kept in a pre-trial detention center until March 25, 2020.

On December 17, the Essentuki court extended the arrest of Malsag Uzhakhov, chairman of the Council of Teips of Ingushetia, for 3 months. On December 18, the courts in the Stavropol Territory extended the detention of five more defendants in the “Ingush case” in a pre-trial detention center.

• The Zheleznovodsky District Court of the Stavropol Territory has already issued three sentences to the participants in the rally in Magas. Ramazan Gagiev On December 12, the court sentenced to 4 months in a colony-settlement. On December 13, Seit-Magomed Nalgiev was sentenced to one year and four months in a colony-settlement. On December 16, the court sentenced Zelimkhan Tomov to 17 months in a colony-settlement. All three criminal cases were considered in a special order.
• In September 2018, the authorities of Ingushetia and Chechnya signed an agreement to change the border between the republics, after which protests began in Ingushetia. On March 26, about 10,000 people came out to a rally in Magas. About two thousand protesters remained on the square all night. In the morning they began to be dispersed, as a result of which clashes broke out between the security forces and the protesters .
• The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on incitement to mass riots (part 3 of article 212 of the Criminal Code) and the use of violence dangerous to life and health against law enforcement officers (part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code). In it, according to the Human Rights Center "Memorial", at least 35 defendants, at least 29 defendants are in custody.
