The Ministry of Internal Affairs created the Department for Combating Violations committed by employees of the Drug Control Department. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the department.

The unit will work in the Main Directorate of its own security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Earlier , Vladimir Putin spoke about the creation of such a structure. According to him, she should engage in abuse in affairs similar to the case of Medusa journalist Ivan Golunov.

In the summer of 2019, Golunov was accused of attempting to sell drugs, but the man claimed that the police were thrown by the police. The case was associated with the investigations of Ivan, later all charges were removed from him. As a result, several senior employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were deprived of their position, but the investigation was not completed.
