The court arrested two more high-ranking customs officers in the bribery case

The Basmanny District Court arrested two defendants in the case of abuse of power (Article 285 of the Criminal Code) in the Federal Customs Service (FCS), RAPSI reports .

The court granted the investigator's request and sent the deputy heads of the Vnukovo and Domodedovo customs offices, Konstantin Mishin and Yuri Cherkashin, to the pre-trial detention center. In addition, the court placed the senior investigator of Domodedovo customs, Andrei Shurygin, under house arrest.

The day before, the court arrested the head of the FCS investigation department, Lieutenant General Alexander Kizlyk, and the deputy head of the FCS department, Alexey Serebro, in the same case.

According to investigators, Kizlyk helped to avoid criminal liability for currency smuggling. As wrote Kommersant , he and other customs officers received bribes ranging from 1 to 3 thousand dollars from passengers transporting undeclared goods and money. In exchange for a bribe, customs officers offered to reclassify criminal cases as administrative.
