The police suspended the case of the illegal cutting of the forest, which was excited after the expedition of the Memorial

In the Perm region, investigators of the Kudymkarsky police department suspended the criminal case under the article on the illegal cut of forest stands (part 2 of article 260 of the Criminal Code), which was excited after the Perm Memorial expedition. This was reported in his telegram channel by the head of the international human rights group "Agora" Pavel Chikov.

The case was suspended on December 11 due to the end of the preliminary investigation and the impossibility of "establish a person involved in the commission of illegal cutting of forest stands." The search for the suspects was entrusted to police officers.

In connection with this criminal case on October 31, the office of the Perm Regional Branch of the Memorial and home to the chairman of the organization Robert Latypov came with the search by the FSB officers, the EE center, investigators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and representatives of the UK.

After the search, the security forces interrogated Latypov as a witness and noted that they “have no complaints” to Latypov and the Perm “memorial”. The law enforcement officers returned to the things and documents seized during the search on November 8.

• Earlier in October, the Ministry of Forestry of the Perm Territory fined the chairman of the Perm Memorial Robert Latypov for 50 thousand rubles and the society itself for 200 thousand rubles for the expedition to the cemetery of Lithuanian and Polish repressed in the Kudymkarsky district. Fines were assigned under the article on the unauthorized lesson of forest sites (Article 7.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Under the same article, the Lithuanians who participated in the expedition were fined, but later the court canceled these fines.
• On August 10 and 11, police officers came to the expedition with interrogation, and a few days later two criminal cases were instituted . A case of illegal cutting of the forest (Article 260 of the Criminal Code) was initiated against unidentified persons, and a local resident Leonid Ladanov was accused of fictitious registration of foreign citizens (Articles 322.2 of the Criminal Code).
