In Tatarstan, the court dismissed one of the two administrative cases of a journalist detained in an eco-camp

The judge of the Zelenodolsk City Court of Tatarstan, Rashat Battalov, dismissed the case under the article on non-compliance with the demand of a policeman (part 1 of article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) against the journalist of the Rossderzhava publication Rushan Kabirov. OVD-Info was told about this by the journalist's defender Danil Nurgaliyev.

The case was dismissed due to the absence of corpus delicti in Kabirov's actions. The court took into account that the journalist was in the eco-camp on an editorial assignment, was in a special vest and with a press card.

“According to reports and protocols, Kabirov was charged with repeatedly disobeying police officers, but the video shows that there were no demands [on him],” Nurgaliyev said.

Later on the same day, judge Battalov fined Kabirov 10,000 rubles under the article on organizing a mass stay of citizens in public places, which caused a violation of public order (part 1 of article 20.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Despite the presence of an editorial task, according to the court, Kabirov took part in the "mass one-time stay of citizens" in the eco-camp.

As Nurgaliyev said, when considering this case, the court separately noted that the journalist was standing next to the construction equipment and commenting on the actions of the police. Thus, Kabirov allegedly blocked the work of equipment.

• On December 17, the same court dismissed the administrative case under the article on non-fulfillment of the demand of a police officer (part 1 of article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) against Tatyana Vorobyeva, one of the detainees in the eco-camp. The case was dismissed for lack of corpus delicti.
• Kabirov and 18 opponents of the construction of an incineration plant were detained on December 16 near Kazan. According to the security forces, the environmental camp, which was set up by the activists, interfered with the free movement of construction equipment and the organization of construction work. Kabirov was then left in the OVD for the night. On the same day, several activists were fined under the article on organizing a mass stay of citizens in public places, which led to a violation of public order (part 1 of article 20.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and under the article on failure to comply with the lawful demand of a police officer (part 1 of article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) .
