In Perm, a new criminal case was opened against a local publicist for inciting hatred or enmity

In Perm, publicist Roman Yushkov, who adheres to nationalist views, was charged with a new criminal case under the article on inciting hatred or enmity against a social group (Part 1, Article 282 of the Criminal Code). This is reported by the portal 59.RU.

The reason for initiating the case was Yushkov's speech during public hearings on the construction of a Jewish center. In his opinion, "the Lubavitcher sect, controlled from New York" is related to the construction of the center.

During public hearings, he spoke out against the construction of this center, suggesting that it would not provide assistance to the Russians. In addition, he opposed the "museum of tolerance."

“Each of my words at these hearings was verified, if cases are filed for the way I characterized Chabad, then they need to be filed daily by dozens against participants in all television talk shows,” Yushkov noted in a conversation with 59.RU.

Later, the court of appeal reduced the fine to 200 thousand rubles. In addition, Yushkov, an associate professor at the University of Perm, was banned from teaching for two years.
• In 2015, the publicist was sentenced to one and a half years of probation for the article “Pugachev-style Hysteria”, published in the regional newspaper Zvezda. In it, Yushkov criticized the Permian police "for their inability to counter ethno-crime."
