
The Ministry of Justice liquidated the Komi human rights commission "Memorial" four years after he put it on the list of "foreign agents". This was reported by the North. Realia by the former member of the Memorial and human rights activist Igor Sazhin.
According to him, the Ministry of Justice liquidated the organization on December 13, he learned about this from journalists. The liquidation procedure lasted for a long time, because the "memorial" was assigned a fine of 300 thousand rubles for non -recognition of themselves as an "foreigner", which the commission did not pay.
"The liquidation procedure of a non -profit organization is well spelled out, and in our case it is not clear how to do it. We have no property, nothing. Now the" Memorial "exists as a public organization, without creating a legal entity. We do exactly the same as before: we help citizens, make complaints, we go to court, we are engaged in different controls, and the memory of the repressed," said the settling.
Komi human rights commission "Memorial" was recognized as a "foreign agent" in July 2015. In her activities they found a political component-due to the publication of the photo report about Alexei Navalny on the website of the 7x7 Internet magazine, which was founded by members of the Memorial. Human rights activists refused to recognize themselves as “foreign agents”, received a fine and filed an application for liquidation.
