The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) opened a case against Booking.com, the service was suspected of violating the law "On Protection of Competition". This was reported on the FAS website.
The company, according to the department, requires hotels to guarantee the best price. According to the FAS, the service sets such conditions that accommodation options are not offered cheaper anywhere else, explains . RIA Novosti
- In November, the FAS issued a warning to Booking.com to stop demanding the best price, the service did not, which became the basis for an antitrust case.
- At the beginning of 2019, Opora Rossii sent a letter to the FAS, in which it claimed that Booking was imposing unfavorable conditions for cooperation due to its dominant position in the market. The share of the service, according to Opora Rossii, reaches 70% on the Russian market.
