Tesla released the first electric cars in China

The American company Tesla first began supplying Model 3 cars from a giant factory of the company in China: new cars have already received 15 employees of the plant, who were ordered and paid for them in advance.

• The plant began to supply cars only 357 days after laying the plant worth $ 2 billion, thereby setting a new record for world car manufacturers in China.
• Tesla fulfilled the plan: the company said that she wanted to have time to start commercial shipments before the New Year on the lunar calendar (January 25). Chinese -made cars cost up to 355,800 yuan or $ 50 thousand.
• The Shanghai Tesla plant with the initial capacity of 250 thousand per year is part of the plan of the car manufacturer from the Silicon Valley to strengthen the presence in the world's largest car market.
• The new factory will minimize the consequences of the US trade war with China: the localization of production on it is already 30%, in 2020 it should reach 100%. Previously, Tesla also sold cars in China, but they were all imported.

For several years, the proportion of electric cars from the entire car market in China increased from 0% in 2014 to 3.3%. Of the 2 million sold electric cars and rechargeable hybrids around the world, about half came to China.
