Roaming between Russia and Belarus will be canceled from September

Roaming between Belarus and Russia will be canceled from September 2020. This was announced by the first Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Krutoy in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel.

Such an agreement exists, Krutoy said. He added that “the tariffs at which citizens will be able, among other things, to congratulate each other on the New Year, <...> will be very, very close.” According to the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister, they “will differ by absolutely symbolic amounts,” and “roaming will die.”

Previously, the Russian side announced that fees for roaming calls in the Union State would be canceled no later than September 2020 and the decision would come into force after the approval of a package agreement between the two states.

Throughout the European Union, mobile roaming for citizens of the community countries was canceled on June 15, 2017. Mobile prices for all mobile operators in the European Union countries then became uniform for servicing subscribers.
