Putin spoke about a “turbulent” and “controversial” time for Russia in his New Year’s address

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his New Year's address, spoke about the controversial time in which Russia found itself "on the threshold of the third decade of the 21st century."

The residents of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky were the first to see Putin's congratulations, where January 1 had already arrived.

“We live in a turbulent, dynamic, contradictory time, but we can and must do everything for Russia to develop successfully, so that everything in our life changes only for the better,” the head of state said.

He added that the personal plans of the Russians and their dreams are inseparable from Russia, Interfax writes.

"Bright New Year's feelings, wonderful impressions live in us from childhood and return every New Year when we hug our loved ones, our parents, prepare surprises for children and grandchildren, decorate the Christmas tree together with them, take out cardboard figures, balls and glass garlands" - Putin said, wishing in conclusion that the inhabitants of the country always had "the happiness of mutual understanding" (all quotes are from Interfax).
