VEB.RF received five SSJ100 aircraft for lease to Aeroflot

VEB .RF received from Sukhoi Civil Aircraft JSC the first five Superjet 100 aircraft for lease to Aeroflot, the company’s press release says. An agreement for 100 SSJ100 aircraft was previously signed by Aeroflot and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (part of Rostec). The delivery of the Superjet 100 was financed by VEB .RF after its approval by the supervisory board.

“The agreement will ensure the utilization of the production capacity of Russian aircraft manufacturing enterprises for the production of high-tech products with a high level of added value, and will also give impetus to the development of regional airports and increased mobility of the population,” the message quoted Industry Minister Denis Manturov as saying.

The largest Russian operator of Superjet 100 aircraft are supplied in the following configuration: 12 seats in the business class cabin and 75 in the economy class cabin. Aeroflot now operates the SSJ100 in the same specification - for 87 passengers. The airline began commercial operation of this type of aircraft in June 2011.
