The Ministry of Justice invited the director of FBK Zhdanov to draw up protocols under the law on “foreign agents”

The Ministry of Justice invited the director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) Ivan Zhdanov to draw up two protocols under the law on “foreign agents” (Part 1 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code). Zhdanov published the documents on his Twitter.

In the first case, the invitation is addressed to FBK, and the Ministry of Justice expects to see the legal representative of the fund; in the second case, the ministry invites Zhdanov himself to draw up the protocol.

FBK was recognized as a “foreign agent” in early October. The Ministry of Justice said that this happened because the fund received donations from Spain and the United States for 140 thousand rubles. FBK head Zhdanov called this a provocation. “We actually found a payment to a blocked account from some Spanish company that we have no idea about, we found a payment for 140 thousand, we did not find any payment from Florida. This has happened before and we were able to recover payments easily, but tracking the payment to a blocked account was quite difficult and impossible to recover even if we wanted to,” he said.

In November, the Ministry of Justice refused to provide Zhdanov with documents on payments, on the basis of which FBK was recognized as a “foreign agent.”
