The parents of Mikhail Kulkov, the person involved in the Network case, spoke about their son's hunger strike in the punishment cell on New Year's Eve. This is reported by "7 × 7" with reference to the mother of the accused Elena Samonina.
As Kulkov told his mother during a meeting, he had been on a hunger strike for four full days, from December 30 to January 4.
A few days before the New Year, during a search, the SIZO officers threw out the defendant's warm sleeveless jacket. In response to this, he refused to leave the cell and called the actions of the officers arbitrariness.
“They [the SIZO officers] dragged him out by the collar and promised a 'merry New Year'. On December 30, after lunch [in the isolation ward], they held a commission and put him in a punishment cell. There were ice batteries, a draft, a full oak forest, ”the publication reports the words of Samonina.
On January 4, the head of the SIZO, Oleg Ikhsanov, came to Kulkov. “Ikhsanov told how everyone is wrong, how good he is and that we need to stop starving. Misha had a discussion with him about Vasya [Kuksov] and about the other guys. To which he [Ikhsanov] began to complain that Vasya had nothing to do with it and fell ill [Kuksov was diagnosed with tuberculosis in the first stage of decay], because he does not eat meat, ”says the defendant’s mother.
After this conversation, Kulkov was placed back in the cell, and he ended his hunger strike.
