Murmansk: The surgeon was initiated for the operation carried out by students

A criminal case was opened at the surgeon of the Kovdor hospital in the Murmansk region for the fact that students were performed instead of him, the regional prosecutor's office reports .

The operation took place in July 2019. The patient was supposed to amputate the leg. The attending surgeon instructed it to conduct a fourth year student who was practiced in the hospital. According to investigators, the doctor knew that students did not have the right to carry out such operations, but did not participate in the process, gave only oral instructions and left the room. As a result, the operation lasted seven hours, and the patient spent eight hours under general anesthesia.

The Office of the Investigative Committee for the Murmansk Region opened a criminal case on the provision of services that did not meet security requirements.

In a commentary , the surgeon said that he was slandered by the head physician of the hospital.

“Specifically, I operated on this patient, he is alive, everything is good with him. The head doctor slandered me. By the way, at the time of the operation he was on vacation and did not know who operated in the hospital. They did all this to survive me,” said the doctor, whose name was not specified.
