Ukhta: A fire was extinguished at the oil refinery

In the city of Ukhta of the Republic of Komi, rescuers completely extinguished the fire. This was reported by the Office of the Ministry of Emergencies in the region. The head of the republic, Sergei Gaplikov, demanded that the relevant departments evaluate possible industrial and environmental damage.

The fire, which was accompanied by explosures, occurred in the evening of January 9 at the oil refinery of the company "Lukoil-Ukhtanefet processing".

The city administration said that one person who was hospitalized was injured in a fire. Later, eyewitnesses reported the evacuation of people from houses near the plant, but officials refuted this information.
