Neo-Nazi teenagers were fined for attacking an anti-fascist in the St. Petersburg metro

The Frunzensky District Court of St. Petersburg fined four juvenile neo-Nazis who attacked a young man at a metro station whom they mistook for an anti-fascist. This was reported in the telegram channel of the press service of the St. Petersburg courts.

Sergei Isakov was fined 10 thousand rubles, mitigating the punishment, since he spent almost four months in custody. Vyacheslav Moguchy, Danila Russ and Alexander Novikov were fined 40 thousand rubles. All were found guilty under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism by prior conspiracy). All defendants admitted their guilt.

As the court found, on January 4, 2019, in Canteen No. 1, four young people - “representatives of right-wing radical ideology, sharing nationalist and right-wing views and values” - “entered into a preliminary criminal conspiracy aimed at committing hooliganism.”

On the platform of the Obvodny Kanal metro station, they saw a young man wearing boots with white laces and carrying a bag with the inscription “Willpower”. The teenagers considered him an anti-fascist and attacked him. Novikov sprayed a gas can into the young man’s face, Isakov and Moguchy began to swing their knives, “thus suppressing the victim’s will to resist,” Russu sprayed again from a gas can. Then Novikov shot him in the face with an aerosol pistol and sprayed the can again, after which all four fled.
