Five defendants in the Kazan Hizb ut-Tahrir cell received sentences ranging from 14 to 22 years in prison

The Judicial Collegium for Military Affairs of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the sentences of five defendants in the Kazan cell of Hizb ut-Tahrir. This is reported by "Parental Solidarity", the information is also confirmed by the court card.

The court upheld the verdict handed down by the Privolzhsky district military court.

Sungatov Ruslan and Rustem Yamaliev received 22 years in a strict regime colony, 2 years of restriction and 20 years in a strict regime colony with a restriction for a year and eight months, respectively, under articles on organizing the activities of a terrorist organization (part 1 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code), inciting terrorist activities (part 1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code), involvement of a minor in the commission of a serious crime (part 4 of article 150 of the Criminal Code).

Irek Nasirov - 14 years in a strict regime colony under the article on participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code).

Ilnar Zinnatov - 19 years in a strict regime colony and a year and a half of restriction under part 1 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code and part 1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code.

Marat Tulyakov - 18 years in a strict regime colony under part 1 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code.

According to investigators, the convicts created conditions for the development and functioning of Hizb ut-Tahrir cells in Tatarstan: they organized and attended illegal meetings, agitated other Muslims to join the organization, kept banned literature and distributed it among members and potential members of Hizb ut-Tahrir ", respected secrecy measures.

• Hizb ut-Tahrir is considered a terrorist organization in Russia. Cases of terrorism have been opened in different regions of the country, while members of the cells of the organization are accused and sentenced to various terms in a strict regime colony only on the basis that they met in apartments, read religious literature and recruited new members.
