The Rostov Regional Court has extended until March 20, 2020 the house arrest of Anastasia Shevchenko, who is accused under an article on an "undesirable organization", the reports . Kavkazsky Uzel publication

The investigator asked to extend Shevchenko's house arrest for three months, until April 17. The lawyers insisted on changing the measure of restraint - on a written undertaking not to leave the place or on an obligation to appear at the request of the investigator. As a result, the court decided to extend the house arrest for two months, until March 20.

Shevchenko's lawyer Sergei Badamshin noted that the Rostov Regional Court did not take into account the previously allowed phone calls to lawyers, children, and an elderly mother in the new extension.

“Issues of extending detention or house arrest by the accused for more than 12 months are no longer considered by the district court, but by the regional one, in accordance with the requirements of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CCP),” Sergey Kovalevich, Shevchenko’s lawyer, explained to Kavkazsky Knot.

• In December, the Leninsky District Court extended Shevchenko's house arrest until January 18, 2020, additionally allowing him to talk on the phone with his mother.
• Anastasia Shevchenko is accused of collaborating with an undesirable organization (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code), at the end of January 2019 she was placed under house arrest. On January 30, Shevchenko's daughter was hospitalized from a boarding school for children with developmental disabilities, on January 31 she died in intensive care.
