The Zavolzhsky District Court of Yaroslavl sentenced Maxim Yablokov, former inspector of the security department of the Yaroslavl colony No. 1, to three and a half years in prison. This was reported by the human rights foundation "Public Verdict".
In addition, the court banned Yablokov for two years from holding senior positions in law enforcement agencies. The prosecutor's office asked for five years in prison for the accused and the deprivation of the rank of lieutenant of the internal service.
The case of Yablokov was considered in a special order, since he pleaded guilty and made a deal with the investigation. He was accused of having beaten three prisoners who arrived at the colony in December 2016, including Khasdin Murtazaliev, together with two other employees of IK-1. The “Public Verdict”, representing the interests of Murtazaliev, posted a video of his beating the day before.
The Public Verdict also names Yablokov one of the most active participants in the beating of Yevgeny Makarov, a prisoner in IK-1; he inflicted at least 129 blows with a club on Makarov's legs. The materials on this episode have not yet been submitted to the court, wrote . Mediazona
