According to the prosecution, during the protests in Magas in March 2019, Oziev “grabbed the shield of an employee of the Russian Guard, experiencing political enmity towards the leadership of the republic and acting under the influence of the authority of the rally organizers.”
“I committed this act without political hostility to the head of the republic and without the influence of the authority of anyone. I apologize to the victim and promise not to repeat the mistakes in the future,” the Caucasian Knot quotes Oziev’s last word.
A protester in Magas has been held in custody since April 2019. The judge counted one day in a pre-trial detention center for two days in a colony-settlement, Oziev should be released at the end of February 2019.
