A report was drawn up against a resident of the Vologda region for “repeated” disrespect for the authorities due to a post on VKontakte.

A report was drawn up against Yuri Shadrin, a resident of Verkhovazhye, Vologda Region, for “repeated” disrespect for the authorities due to a VKontakte post. This was reported by NewsVo.

A protocol under the article on “disrespect for authority” (Part 4 of Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) against Shadrin was drawn up in connection with the November publication on the social network “Vkontakte”, in which the surname “Putin” was mentioned. The post was sent for linguistic examination.

The maximum penalty under this part is a fine of up to two hundred thousand rubles or administrative arrest for up to fifteen days.

• At the end of December it became known that a statement had been filed against Shadrin again. The author of the complaint turned out to be the same person whose past appeal became the reason for the administrative case against Shadrin.
• On June 7, 2019, Shadrin was fined 30 thousand rubles for publishing a status on Vkontakte about Putin. He was charged with disrespect for authority (Part 3 of Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code).
• In March 2019, Vladimir Putin signed a law on disrespect for power. For the first offense, this law provides for a fine of 30 to 100 thousand rubles.
