"New Gazeta" invites social dates in St. Petersburg to Hakaton. Winner - grant of 110 thousand rubles

On February 15-16, the New Gazeta, together with the greenhouse of social technologies, will hold in St. Petersburg the Khakaton of Social Projects “Flight 2020”. Having taken as the basis the UN’s formulated goals of the device, we will do research, investigations, services, applications, plugins, other data and tools based on data that will help to shed light on the problems of modern society and offer ways to solve them for the coming years.

What can be done using data? Working with data, an activist or journalist is able to identify discrimination, shortage, poor quality, unevenness, conflict of interests, suspicious activity, “bottleneck”, and other structural obstacles that are sometimes visible to the naked eye, but become obvious as a result of a date-analysis. Non -profit organizations can use their own data and new methods of working with them to increase the effectiveness of their work.

We invite activists, NPO employees, researchers, journalists, programmers, IT specialists, designers, and enthusiasts with the data with an active life position and the desire to make the world better to the “spotlight 2020”.

The conditions of the hackathon provide a wide format and subject of final work, and the winning project will receive financial support in the amount of 110,000 rubles for revision and launch (publication). Participants will also be provided with information support in the further promotion of their ideas - on the resources of Novaya Gazeta and the greenhouse of social technologies.
