The court sent for retrial the case of a transgender woman convicted of “distributing pornography”

The Bryansk Regional Court overturned the sentence of a three-year sentence on charges of distributing pornography to a transgender woman, Michelle, and released her from a pre-trial detention center. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the organizer of the company in support of the accused Lada Preobrazhenskaya.

The Court of Appeal on the complaint of Michelle's lawyers overturned the verdict and returned the case to the court of first instance for reconsideration in the new composition of the court.

• The reason for the criminal case against Michelle was drawings of nude characters from Japanese comics . As the experts concluded, the published pictures were "male persons under the age of 14." The woman was charged with an article (part 1 of article 242.1 of the Criminal Code)
• At the end of November, the court sentenced the woman to 3 years in prison, finding her guilty of distributing pornography depicting minors (part 1 of article 242.1 of the Criminal Code).
• While waiting for the appeal, Michelle was in solitary confinement in a pre-trial detention center. If the complaint had not been satisfied, she would have gone to the men's colony.
