The investigator motivated the choice of experts by the fact that the case of Svetlana Prokopyeva became widely known in Russia, and the expertise had already been carried out by specialists from the Southern and Volga Federal Districts. “In order to exclude any interest and dependence of experts, it is advisable to appoint an examination in another subject of the Russian Federation, the most distant from the commission of the crime. In particular, in the Siberian Federal District,” the investigator wrote in the decision to appoint an examination.

Svetlana Prokopieva herself noted that, regardless of the place of residence, a professional "would not write anything other than the absence of signs of justifying terrorism." “What kind of LLC is this in Khakassia? The reason was a post published on July 6, 2017 on her page on VKontakte. In the publication, the woman wrote about cases of oppression of the indigenous people of Khakassia. For example, according to Bainova, at one establishment in Abakan, children were told that only Russians could enter the playroom. Bainova herself is raising a young daughter. Whether this phrase referred to her is not specified. The case was closed in 2018.
