At odds with life

No "transit" is expected

I look at what is happening in Russia through several thousand kilometers and several time zones. Feeling like a crazy house. However, when you look from the inside, it is the same. I'll be back soon to check.

Three questions: why all this, what will it lead to, how should we react?

For what? Well it is clear. No "transit" is expected. Everything is to preserve and, most importantly, strengthen personal power. I hope no one believed Putin's statement that it is impossible, they say, to limit and weaken the power of the president. The absolute power of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPSU was not prescribed in the Constitution, but this did not bother anyone. An Iranian model is being created in which a spiritual leader stands above all formal institutions, appointed directly by Allah and answering to him.

By the way, officials and deputies, dreaming about the reincarnation of Iran in our country, have long called their leader a national leader. Here is a very important difference from the president. You can dislike the President, you can vote against him and still remain a member of the civil nation.

A person who does not love the national leader, does not admire him, takes himself outside of this nation. Or they take him out.

This has already happened in history.

Putin actually admitted that in the system he himself created, within the framework of those minimum civil liberties and legislative restrictions, from which his people expelled any content for twenty years, he can no longer rule.

There will be some presidium of the State Council / Security Council headed by whoever it is, including the president, prime minister, key ministers and associates. Anyone can be crammed into the rank and file - the experience of the Central Committee of the CPSU shows that this does not interfere with anything. The Presidium, like the Politburo under the USSR, not bound by any written rules, not even focusing on simulation procedures, will make decisions that formally do not have legal force, but are in fact binding.

Where it leads? This system will not work. Its previous, Soviet version was built after the revolution and the Civil War, which left behind scorched earth - there was no one to resist, except for individual heroes. Its Iranian version was based on the belief in the possibility of creating a just society on the basis of Islam: this faith swayed, and the regime swayed. Putin, on the other hand, has no ideas, let alone uplifting ones, and he cannot go through the country like a skating rink like the Bolsheviks - there are no resources, and, probably, he does not want to.

The conceptual managerial outline will impede or stop the functioning of business, municipal government, and much more. It is at the very top that they will “understand everything” and pull themselves along, and in the regions forgotten by God, after a brief period of confusion, they will generally stop paying attention to Moscow with its intricate system of power. Centrifugal tendencies are already quite strong in various parts of the country, and chaos at the top will only reinforce the desire for "self-determination to the point of secession." Well, and those people who today are striving for modernization according to the European model will either go to jail - repressions, of course, will intensify - or give up on everything, and those who are younger and more educated will leave. You can, of course, close the borders, but it's expensive.

It must be understood that the system that the authorities are trying to build does not contradict anyone's interests, but life itself.

How should we react? It must be admitted that the democratic opposition has no way to stop this madness. The slogan of protecting the Constitution will not find a response among the general population, and the authorities will respond to demonstrations in Moscow and other major cities as they have learned.

But it does not at all follow from this that there is no need to resist—on the contrary, resistance is necessary!

But all this is not to prevent what is already a foregone conclusion. Let's change the timeline, let's look not in the perspective of the next "elections", but for a long time. Resistance is for the future. When this trouble passes, the country will have to be rebuilt on ruins. Our problems will not be solved by themselves simply because those who drove us into a dead end leave, and the invited experts will not do this either. This will require civic activity, more precisely, the activity of citizens, and, therefore, these citizens themselves - people with a sense of their own dignity, who feel responsibility for their country, their capabilities, and hence the duty to restore it. But the regime, which is based on hypocrisy and lies, is fighting such people, trying to force them out of the country or, at least, go into internal emigration. It must be admitted that the authorities succeed in this. If we silently swallow what is offered to us today, there will be even fewer citizens in the full sense of the word.

Protest is a necessary condition for the self-preservation of those who are not ready to give up. The protest will not stop the adoption of the new Constitution, but the protesters need it. So that today they continue to feel like people, not cattle. So that tomorrow they will restore their country.
