The case was terminated against the former head of Rusnano Melamed

The Investigative Committee terminated the criminal case against the former head of the company "RUSNANO" Leonid Melamed and its former financial director of the company Svyatoslav Ponurov. The case was terminated by the expiration of the statute of limitations on non -rehabilitating grounds, TASS reports with reference to a source in law enforcement.

The case was opened in 2009. Melamed, Ponurov and the former deputy general director of Rusnano Andrei Malyshev, who disappeared from the investigation, was accused of embezzlement of 220 million rubles. The statute of limitations for this article is 10 years.

The court in the case began in 2017, but by court decision, the case was returned to the prosecutor’s office, from where it did not return to the court for new consideration.

The head of "Rusnano" is Anatoly Chubais. He acted in court as a witness, claiming that the actions of Melamed and other accused did not cause damage corporations.
