"The access of operatives to personal data does not provide for the expansion of their powers"

The head of the Ministry of Civil Academy of Sciences Maksut Shadaev specified that in his proposal to provide the security forces with access to the data of Russians about the transition from paper to electronic document management using the system of interagency electronic interaction.

The Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadaev clarified the information previously voiced in the media regarding the provision of law enforcement agencies to personal data of Russians.

According to him, we are talking about automating the process of providing access to information about personal data of individuals and legal entities in the framework of interagency interaction. It is assumed that law enforcement officers who conduct operational-search activities will move from paper to electronic document management using the system of interagency electronic interaction.

“It is important to understand that we are not talking about additional powers for law enforcement agencies, as a number of media reported, but only about taking measures to increase the efficiency of existing ones,” said Maksut Shadaev.

Also, automation of the process of transferring court decisions should significantly limit errors when providing access to law enforcement agencies to private information and reduce the likelihood that access to related information for which there is no court decision.
